Azra Carrington

Azra Carrington is a third-year J.D. Candidate at Northeastern University School of Law (NUSL) in Boston, MA. Azra earned her B.A. in Political Science and a certificate in Ethnic Studies from the University of Hawai’i at Mānoa in December 2018. From a young age, Azra has followed her passion to acquire crucial legal tools to protect and support marginalized communities, which led her to Build Up Companies.

Azra first entered the professional legal space as an undergraduate intern at the Sacramento County District Attorney’s Office. At the DA’s office, Azra witnessed the growing necessity for impactful and meaningful legal representation for the underserved populace, which continued to fuel her drive to attend law school. Upon completion of her first year at Northeastern, Azra served as an eviction defense Summer Law Clerk with Centro Legal de la Raza in Oakland, CA. To further sharpen her dynamic advocacy skills, Azra served as a federal judicial intern for the U.S. District Court, for the District of Massachusetts.

Azra is a fervent traveler and self-proclaimed global citizen. Azra strives to visit every continent in the world; only with three more continents to go. In her free time, Azra is often outside catching sunset, hiking scenic trails, swimming or scuba diving in the world’s beautiful seas and oceans, and spending quality time with her family and twelve-year-old Doberman Pinscher, Apollo.
