Loryn Wilson Carter
Communications Coordinator
Loryn Wilson Carter is a communications strategist and digital storyteller. Prior to founding Jefferson Park, Loryn executed digital strategies for organizations and campaigns such as NAACP, YWCA USA, Collective PAC, and the Honorable Donna Edwards.
As the CEO of Jefferson Park, she bridges together her passions for social justice and inclusive marketing with 15 years of experience in digital media campaigns and traditional communications strategy. Currently residing in the DC area, Loryn is originally from South Central Los Angeles. Jefferson Park Consulting was named in honor of Jefferson Park, the one place where she feels most at home: the corner of Jefferson and Crenshaw, in the heart of South Central Los Angeles. It is the place she learned what it meant to be in community and where she stepped into her gifts as a writer; she performed poetry at her church and in nearby Leimert Park as a teenager.
Loryn is the co-founder of Black Girl Digital, a community for black women who work in digital careers, and has a passion for addressing the lack of diversity in the digital space. She is a graduate of George Washington University and a member of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Incorporated. Loryn is the author of Win the Internet: The Remix – An updated guide of social media best practices, which is available now on Amazon.
